Stroller or baby carrier in Tenerife?
Share
Here’s what really works depending on whether you’re staying in the South (Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos) or the North (Puerto de la Cruz, Anaga).
Are you going to Tenerife with a baby and unsure whether to bring a stroller or a baby carrier?
The answer depends mainly on the area where you’re staying.
In the South (Costa Adeje, Los Cristianos, Playa de las Américas…)
The promenades are flat, spacious, and very pleasant.
A stroller is clearly the best option for everyday use: beaches, hotels, walks along the seafront… everything is easy.
A baby carrier is still useful as a complement for certain trails or for moments when you want to keep your hands free.
In the North (Puerto de la Cruz, La Laguna, Anaga…)
The terrain is more natural and uneven.
In Puerto de la Cruz and La Laguna, a stroller still works very well.
But as soon as you head toward the villages or Anaga’s trails, a baby carrier (or a babywearing backpack) becomes much more practical and comfortable.
Teide and mountain areas
Here, a stroller is less suitable. A hiking baby carrier is highly recommended.
In summary
| Area | Best main option | Useful complement |
|---|---|---|
| South (beaches + resorts) | Stroller | Baby carrier |
| Puerto de la Cruz | Stroller or baby carrier | — |
| North + Anaga | Baby carrier / babywearing backpack | Jogger City-style stroller |
| Teide and mountains | Hiking baby carrier | — |
